While this is the day the first games will be shipped my mail, the official release date was already on November 1st 2008. In front of serveral hundred visitors “Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles” has been released, presented and sold previously at this date at the “Retro Gaming Connexion” in Congis-sur-Thérouanne near Paris, France.

Yet customers who already preordered the game in advanced have received first copies of the game at the beginning of this week. Wholesalers and retailers will be delivered within this week as well.

Yuan Works released their debut game after years of developing last year for the GamePark GP2X and became a finalist at the Independent Games Festival Mobile in San Francisco.

Dank gilt allen, die den (zum Teil sehr weiten) Weg auf sich genommen haben, um uns zu besuchen und auch denjenigen, die per Zufall unseren Stand gefunden haben und gefallen hat, was sie sahen. You rock!

Wir dürfen mit Freude verkünden: Auch 2008 werden wir auf der Games Convention in Leipzig mit einem eigenen Stand vertreten sein. Zu finden sind wir in Halle 2, Stand H22 und während der gewohnten Zeit vom 20. bis 24. August 2008.

Geboten wird einiges. Neben einer Highscore-Jagd bei “Last Hope” stellen wir die finale Dreamcast-Version von “Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles” (entwickelt von Yuan Works Co., Ltd.) vor, die auch komplett spielbar sein wird. In Zusammenarbeit mit der Leipziger Messe GmbH werden wir zudem einen Vortrag zum Thema “Kommerzielle Entwicklungen auf alternativen Plattformen” halten.

Musikalisch wird es auch dieses Mal voll auf die Ohren geben: Mit Les Trucs (Chiptune Hardcore aus Frankfurt a. M.) und Gtuk (8-bit Terror aus Berlin) werden am 22. (Freitag) und 23. (Samstag) gleich zwei Bands mehrmals am Tag spielen.

We are very grateful to annouce our attendance at this years Games Convention in Leipzig , Germany, in hall 2, booth H22. The Games Convention is Europe’s largest videogame exhibition that was visited by 185.000 customers and 3.300 journalists last year.

Beside a “Last Hope” highscore hunt we also present the final Dreamcast version of “Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles” (developed by Yuan Works Co., Ltd.) that will be fully playable. In cooperation with the Leipziger Messer GmbH we also give a lecture concerning commercial developments on alternative platforms in hall 4.

Again we will present live music acts. This year Les Trucs (chiptune hardcore from Frankfurt) and Gtuk (8-bit terror from Berlin) will play on Friday 22nd and Saturday 23rd several times a day.

But what is the demoscene? Pretty unknown to gamers, this subcultur is all about bringing code, animation, graphics and sound together in one production that runs in realtime on a machine. Windows, Mac OS, Dreamcast, Nintendo DS - there are only a few platforms that haven’t had demos running on them by now. A demoparty is a place where demosceners come together to watch new releases in a competition and vote their favorites by the end of the party.

What has it to do with videogames? Buenzli is the most open minded demoparty on earth yet it is not a LAN party or any similar event. The “Open Game Competition” is dedicated to new game releases and you have the possibility to play old classics from NES to Xbox Live Arcade in the chill out area.

Since redspotgames is a supporter of this years Buenzli and also presents the final version of Wind and Water: Puzzle Battles at the partyplace, we raffle three tickets for the Buenzli 17. The only thing you have to do is to send us a mail to buenzli@redspotgames.com and have a bit of luck.
